I am a network researcher currently working mostly on optical networking and hybrid networks. Most of the work I do is on behalf of SURFnet. From 2002 to 2005 I worked at NLnet Labs as a developer on IPv6 projects. From 1997 to 2002 I worked at SURFnet (the national research network of the Netherlands) at the department of Network Services. Besides operational tasks I was the IPv6 project leader. As of November 2001 the SURFnet5 production network is dual stack with OC192 native IPv6 links. From 1990 to 1997 I worked at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam as system and network manager. In 1988 I started two years of research on high temperature superconductors (YBaCuO) at the Delft University of Technology. I hold a M.Sc. in both Physics and Computer Science. Both were received at the Vrije Universiteit. I am a frequent visitor of GLIF and IETF meetings. |
